WIC Volunteer Opportunities

Why volunteer?

When you volunteer to serve on a WIC team or committee, you are helping fellow consultants, the WIC organization, and the entire business community.

Volunteering also benefits you. There are many good reasons to become involved, such as:

  • Expanding your business and personal network, with both WIC members and the professionals you recruit and assist with their programs
  • Demonstrating your skills and abilities to other professionals
  • Deepening your relationships with colleagues
  • Building self-confidence by taking on and mastering new marketable job skills
  • Enhancing your resume
  • Exposure to the best practices of business thought-leaders
  • Satisfaction of making a difference

See below for our current volunteer opportunities.

PR Chair

The person in this role will work with a paid PR consultant and the WIC Director of PR & Marketing to create a rolling PR plan that promotes the value of WIC to the consulting and business communities. This role also involves outlining and assisting with writing press releases, managing the contributed article and consultant case study programs, and publicizing various WIC programs.

Requires solid writing/editing/communication skills, ability to manage projects and work as part of a virtual team, and an understanding of PR or a willingness to/interest in learning about it. Reports to the WIC Director of PR & Marketing.

This role could also be broken up into individual components, with different people managing only one segment—such as press releases or contributed articles or consulting case studies, etc.

For full description, contact WIC Director of Marketing, Avery Horzewski.

Anticipated time for this role is roughly 2 hours per month.

Requires the ability to manage projects effectively and see them through to completion, solid communication skills, and the availability to post event descriptions within 3 – 5 business days of receiving an event description.
